Eczema Experts Share their Thoughts: Amy S. Paller, MD

Q: What is the most significant challenge facing eczema patients?
A: Challenges of the need for more effective therapy, both for the inflammation and for the itchiness itself, continue and are particularly urgent for more severe eczema. A major challenge in the upcoming years will be the changes in health care policy, which may make it harder to get all but generic medications, may restrict access, and risk decreasing research in developing new treatment strategies.
Q: Why is NEA important?
A: NEA is a vital organization to provide education, support families with eczema, encourage research to increase our understanding and new approaches to eczema, and to influence decision-making that can impact eczema sufferers and funding for research.
