NEA Funded Grant Reports

The National Eczema Association provides grants for patient-oriented eczema research. Since 2004, NEA has funded research on topics of primary importance to the eczema sufferer: itch, infection, skin barrier function, prevention and psycho-social aspects of the condition. Many research projects funded by NEA have resulted in multimillion dollar funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This is a tremendous return on our members' investments in NEA's research program!

National Eczema Association Invites Research Grant Proposals

The National Eczema Association (NEA) research program offers grants to established and new investigators in the field. The 2011 research areas of emphasis are: Eczema prevention, Alternative therapies, Itch, Co-morbidities.

NEA Research Grant Produces Results

NEA Researchers Dr. Anna De Benedetto and Dr. Lisa A. Beck led a group of scientists in studying the function of one of the two main skin barriers, the tight junction (TJ) to determine the role of claudin-1, a protein component of TJ, in Atopic Dermatitis.
